DJ Skizz – The 730 Interview

DJ Skizz - The 730 Interview

If you hear a grimy beat that’s so ridiculously filthy, I mean, we’re talking huge levels of grime, like Pigpen doing Suga Free karaoake in an Oklahoma strip club for the breakfast crowd on a weekday, there’s a good chance that’s a DJ Skizz production. And while the talented producer probably isn’t a part of the Oklahoma strip club weekday breakfast scene, he is in the elite group of producers dedicated to the craft of dropping hardbody beats for the illest MCs in the game, like Milano Constantine. Together, they just dropped an EP, The Way We Were, which is ‘Lano’s first official release in a minute. The talented MC hasn’t lost a step, but it’d be hard for him to falter over the Skizz backdrops. Before the Milano project, Skizz released a critically-acclaimed compilation over the summer, Cruise Control, that was a who’s-who of talented rappers. And this is just the beginning for the former Halftime Show DJ. Expect to see the name pop up a lot more in the future, but for now, check out Skizz as he waxes poetic on working with Milano, how he can do what he does and still pay the bills, his experience at the Halftime Show, his production techniques, and much more.
